Life at Admiral
Adsum House Tea
Ten Admiral ladies enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea at the Prince George Hotel in support of Adsum House. They were treated to a fabulous lunch and fashion show featuring the latest designs from New York. The ladies enjoyed high tea with a sample of treats from some of the best bakeries in the city. The afternoon featured a cake raffle and some fun gifts and door prizes with three of the day’s winners being seated at the Admiral table. Anne won a specatcular cake and Jenn scooped up a fruit bouquest which she brought back to share with her team, while Dee won a beautiful floral centrepiece. It was a an enjoyable afternoon in support of a very worthwhile chairty. This was our third year attending the event in celebratuion of Spring and the great work being done by Adsum House in our community.
A Warm Welcome from Henry our CEO
Henry came to our office this summer to welcome aboard over 100 new members of the Admiral Halifax team and delivered them their jigsaw pieces representing that each of us is integral in achieving the big picture. While he was visiting he treated 7 of our top members to a star lunch, where he presented each of them with a Star Performer plaque to recognize their stellar performance which has shines through in everything they do in our office. The luncheon was held at one of Halifax’s oldest and best known restaurants; McKelvies, on a sunny summer’s day and there were smiles all round as the staff enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Henry a bit better and be presented with their plaques as a thank you for all their hard work and dedication to Admiral.
Promoted Employees – Congratulations!
In Halifax we firmly stand behind our policy of developing our staff and promoting from within. In fact in the past 24 months, every new position created as we continued to grow, was filled by our internal pool of incredibly talented employees.
In the past year we have promoted 29 out of 282 employees (that’s one in ten staff) who filled opportunities within our management, training, recruitment, administration, facilities, and support departments.
Congratulations to everyone from your team-mates at Admiral. When we say join admiral for a career that’s filled with opportunity, we MEAN it.
Admiral Dragons
Whether it was the Welsh Water Dragons team paddling up a storm at the Dragon Boat Festival or the Admiral Dragons hitting ’em out of the park at the Annual Contact Centre Softball Tournament, our teammates were everywhere this summer taking metro by storm and raising money for a number of very worthwhile causes in the community. Kudos to everyone who participated and fundraised this summer, our donations to charity for the IWK and Kidsport totaled over $3000.00. Well done Dragons, well done indeed!
Company Picnic
Admiral held its second annual company picnic at MacDonald Beach in Dartmouth this July. Over a hundred and fifty staff members and their families took in a day of sunshine and a few shenanigans on the shores of Lake Morris in Dartmouth. Tarek’s Café provided us with a lovely array salads, beverages, hot dogs and hamburgers and then after lunch the staff checked out the giant hamster balls and charity dunk tank while the children enjoyed the face painting, balloon animals, giant bubbles and magic show. Our Ministry of Health kept us all well hydrated throughout the day with free bottles of water and juice pacs and the Z103.5 Summer Heat Team arrived to deliver tons of freebies to our staff including two family passes to the Magic Mountain Family Theme Park, won by Lilly S and Brian H. Speaking of Brian, Mr. 3000 was a popular target at the dunk tank which raised $80.00 for the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital. And no company picnic would be complete without the Sales versus Renewals Tug of War competition. In the 2009 competition Renewals captured the cup, but this year Des Lynam’s grin said it all, as the Sales Team dug deep and were the victors of the Admiral Cup on the day!
